In the pre-internet/email/instan t messaging/sms-ing days, when someone you haven't seen (or much less spoken to) in more than a year gives you a call, you'd normally get a little excited and have a lengthy conversation about everything that has been going on.
Thanks to broadband (perpetual 'online' status on msn) and the handphone (smses anytime, day, night and everything in between), this is what you get when someone is back in town after quite a while.
[sms beep] "I'm in town. Gimme a call."
[calls friend] "Yeah, what thing?" "Hey. You free or not?" "Today cannot. Tomorrow night go out la." "Aight." (click)
This is merely a dramatisation of actual events. No animals were harmed during production.
If this keeps up, we won't have anymore 'When I was your age we had to walk ten miles to school' stories to tell our grandkids.
